Meet The Team- Karen Lowry
What is your role within ESF?
I am the Business Development Manager for ESF.
How long have you been working with the company?
I have been working for ESF since it started over seven years ago, however I have been driving into the same business centre for over 29 years! I started in Civils specialising in drainage channel, sanitary equipment, cast iron downpipes and manhole covers etc., before moving into the street furniture division 13 years ago.
What does an average day look like for you?
No two days are the same at ESF!
In general though, I provide technical and sales advice to architects, local authorities, education/health and contractors. I look after the project management of some of our key projects, revising offers and working with contractors and clients and negotiate specifications, savings and prices with contractors onsite.
I work closely with our sales team to ensure quotes are promptly answered, followed up and updated onto our CRM system. I do general office management, working closely with the rest of ESF’s team, prioritising workload and managing concerns, liaising with supplier to secure competitive prices. Some days, I’m also required on-site which is enjoyable as I get to see first-hand where our products are being installed!
What do you enjoy about working with ESF?
I love that no two days are ever the same! It keeps my job interesting.
How do you like to relax outside of working hours?
I have a Golden Retriever called Farrah so I spend a lot of time taking her for walks! I also have a caravan in Drumheglis Marina, up the North Coast, so I love spending time there at the weekends, taking in the beautiful scenery.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself!
People think my boss (Alan Lowry) is my husband! This does however work to my advantage when I get to spend time in the business lounges! 🙂
